About Gazette of Medicine
The Gazette of Medicine is a peer-reviewed bi-annual journal that publishes articles with relevance to contemporary issues in tropical medicine and surgery. With an emphasis on quality publications from budding and established medical researchers and scientists, the Gazette of Medicine addresses issues on Clinical medicine, Laboratory medicine, Preventive & Social Medicine, Medical Education, and other relevant aspects of health care research in the sub-Saharan African region and beyond. As the official journal publication of the Association of Resident Doctors, University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (ARD - UPTH), the Gazette of Medicine has been in publication since 2012 and is geared towards providing a platform for local and regional researchers to make contributions that will enhance medical practice in developing countries and illuminate current advances in medical practice. The Gazette of Medicine welcomes original works and publishes qualitative and quantitative medical research articles, review articles, case reports, commentaries, and Letters to Editors. These publications are available in print and freely accessible online. The Association of Resident Doctors, University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital The ARD- UPTH is an academic and professional Union of Physicians and Surgeons who are in Training by diverse faculties of the West African and National Postgraduate Medical Colleges (Nigeria). The Union is affiliated with the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) and is also supported academically and in research by members of faculties in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Port Harcourt. A key objective of the ARD-UPTH is to promote research and scholarship by maintaining a high-quality, sustainable, Open Access journal and a source of updated information in contemporary issues in medical practice. The Association relentlessly encourages budding researchers, resident doctors, and other scholars to continually delve into quality research. The Editorial team comprises very motivated medical personnel, local and international academics, and reviewers who are poised to ensure that manuscripts are rigorously reviewed and turned into well-disseminated research articles.
